Disbursement of Funds

For students enrolled for the entire academic year, all forms of financial aid (with the exception of work-study) are disbursed in two disbursements - one for the fall and one for the spring. Financial aid will not be disbursed until the student’s actual enrollment matches the anticipated enrollment indicated on the Financial Aid Action Page, and all other requirements are met. To expedite the disbursement of your financial aid, please remember the following:

  • Complete your enrollment as early as possible.
  • If your enrollment plans have changed since you completed the Financial Aid Action Page via the Student Administration System, contact the Office of Student Financial Aid Services as soon as possible so that your financial aid package can be adjusted.

Students, whose less than full time enrollment is certified by the Center for Students with Disabilities, will be packaged for eligible aid based on cost of attendance and federal regulations. Students should be aware that federal regulations require that Federal Pell Grant funds be prorated based on the number of credits taken, and that the student financial aid budget is reduced accordingly. To borrow under the Federal Stafford Loan program, or to have a previous loan deferred, students must be enrolled for a minimum of six credits. Students should keep in mind that, with the exception of the Pell Grant, it is the University's policy that students must be enrolled at least half time to receive financial aid.
